Maybe interfering with msn-messenger? I had the same prob, even disableling msn wouldn't work! had to restart pc every time I wanted to play et after using msn:(
Not using msn that much anymore so probblem pretty much solved
Guess there should be another way to resolve that :?: :?

Had the prob a while ago. Like 4 months ago or so, like I said I hardly use msn anymore atm so no probs anymore either ;)
Updated ur drivers lately? Check ur processes, maybe u c something there that could interfere with ur sound?
Try playing right after a restart?

Try to figure out what did you do diferent on the last times sound didnĀ“t start on ET, any new software going at same time?
More do you have an onboard sound card emulator or a real soundcard?

look with ctrl+alt+suppr if all programs related with msn messenger are close when you closed msn.
You can use too the program "process explorer" from Sysinternal http://www.sysinternals.com/ (utilities>system information>process explorer) to see all process running in your computer. It's a freeware.
I know that : Loadqm is related with msn (update of msn) it start with your computer : write "msconfig" in command.
I don't know if that can help you and MacAttack too.
